First time I’ve seen him live with such a big backing band
10/10. I love his shows always. He is always motivated to spread positivity, which is sorely lacking these days. He changes up the production of some of the biggest “hits” a bit from show to show, and this one brought a little more reggae into the classics. I’m a fan of not just the music, but of “good humans,” which I feel definitely describes Matt Mathews, as well as insanely talented and a master wordsmith. Lyrics are my language and positivity is important, so I ALWAYS enjoy the experience when I can be in the same place as others for the shared experience. Matt Mathews is always cognizant of that and fosters that sense of community-even if just for a few hours.
Watching Mona on stage just makes me happy. I’ve been a fan of Raining Jane as well. The energy she emits while breaking down the rhythms behind the songs is mesmerizing.
